What are Christmas-themed French brain breaks? In fact, what are brain breaks?
Well, they’re literally a break you give your students’ brains and bodies.
When your students work hard on curricular activities for extended periods of time, their energy level might decrease.
That might actually make it more difficult for them to concentrate and complete tasks.
Whenever you feel this is happening, it’s time for a brain break!
Christmas-themed French Brain Breaks
Brain breaks usually involve body movement because moving makes the blood flow and helps kids recharge and refocus.
This set of brain breaks spinners has a Christmas theme.
When it’s time for a break, have one or two students use the spinners to find out how they’ll be moving, e.g. “danse comme un renne”.
Tell kids that everybody, including you, will be dancing like a reindeer for a minute or so.
If you have a document camera, you can project the spinners on the board so that all students can see the spinners in action.
To spin, you’ll need a pencil and a paper clip (see Instagram video below).
Print on card stock and laminate for durability.
If using the B&W version, consider printing on colorful paper.
Students (and teachers) might get restless in the holiday season, so taking a break to move, to breathe, and to laugh will do wonders to get you through the season!
Hope you and your kids enjoy these Christmas-themed French brain breaks!
