French Back-to-school Color by Sound
This could work as informal assessment for your to notice how well your new students know their sounds.
Give them a box of colored pencils or crayons and let then enjoy working with French sounds!
More specifically, we’re talking about your kiddos learning and recognizing their graphemes, i.e. the way the sounds are represented in writing.
They color a sound and all the words containing that sound the same color.
For example, the sound oi is blue in the example below, so kids need to color the word “poisson” blue because it contains the sound “oi”.

By following the code at the top of the page, your students will color the parts of the drawing to reveal the hidden image.
