The French Color and Read worksheets were created to help students learn high-frequency words.
Learning high-frequency words is essential for your students to speak French.
The question is: how can you get lots of practice and repetition in a fun and effective way?
These worksheets are the answer!
French Color and Read Worksheets
Each set includes 6 worksheets and 1 mini-book.
The worksheets always follow the same pattern so you don’t have to keep repeating instructions over and over again.
Once students understand what they have to do, they’ll be able to go through all the worksheets in all the sets in the same manner.
First, students color the crayons at the top of the page. Each crayon represents the color that the high-frequency word should be colored.
Next, students use the code to color the words at the center of the page. Ideally, they should be reading the words aloud as they color them so they get speaking practice.
Then, students get to the sentence at the bottom of the page. The sentence is made up of the five words they have colored so far.
As they have read the words many times during the coloring phase, kids should now be able to read the sentence with ease.
Finally, students get to copy the sentence – adding some always-welcome writing practice.
