More and more schools are pushing for paperless classrooms because they either want to cut down on paper use or because they want to foster the use of more technology in education. Maybe both.
I don’t believe in a completely paperless classroom, particularly for K-2. Little kids need to manipulate paper to learn.
But I do believe we can integrate digital resources with printed resources and that’s why I’m here today.
French Sight Words Digital Freebie
As I see it, digital resources can complement printed resources by offering features that paper doesn’t have, such as audio.
Boom Learning is a platform that allows any teacher to create digital cards.
I’ve created a set of audio digital task cards on Boom and you can test out a free sample to see how this kind of resource would work in your classroom.
Each card “speaks” a word and students need to click on the written word that matches the audio.

By starting a Boom account, you can create your own cards. To save on time, you can look for paid and free cards that teachers like me are offering.
Boom Cards play on modern browsers (released in the last three years) on interactive whiteboards, computers, Chromebooks, smartphones, and tablets. Boom Cards apps are also available (App Store and Google Play)
The cards can save you time because they’re self-grading.
They also save on paper copies and ink.
