Here are a couple of French summer printables: French Summer Worksheets (color & read) and French Summer Sentence Builders. Oh, and at the end of the post, there’s a fun beach vocabulary quiz on Slideshare!
1. French Summer Printables: Sentence Builders
These “phrases mêlées” can be used in two steps because all the sentences are questions! After unscrambling the sentences, students can answer the questions, either in writing or in speaking. In my classroom, I would get them to do both. First, I’d randomly select some students to answer the questions. Then, I’d have them work in pairs asking each other the same questions and writing down the partner’s answers.
2.French Summer Printables: Color & Read Worksheets
Repetition is key when getting students to memorize new words/vocabulary.
But repetition for repetition’s sake can be boring. The secret is to make students repeat without them noticing!
The words used in the Color & Read Worksheets are mostly sight words, “les mots usuels”. The context and theme, however, changes from set to set so that kids can see the words as they would encounter them in real life and not just in one kind of sentence only.
My newest set is all about SUMMER! Click to check it out on Teachers Pay Teachers:

3. French Beach Vocabulary: Slideshare quiz
Sometimes, all we need in the classroom is a quick “pick-me-up” activity to get everybody to re-focus and engage.
Use this French Beach Vocabulary Mini-quiz as a classroom game and see which team gets more answers right!
