“I’ve got all the time in the world!”, said no teacher ever. So the more goals you can achieve with one activity, the better.

Check out this French Remembrance Day reading worksheet for a simple text about “le jour du Souvenir” that will ALSO help your students practice their reading comprehension skills!

French Remembrance Day Reading Comprehension

“Coquelicot”, “soldats”, “novembre”, “paix”: those are the words your students will use to fill in the blanks in the text.

Instead of writing, your kiddos will be cutting and pasting the words into place. Did I hear fine motor skills practice? Yeah, with their little hands getting used to tablets and computers, kids, even big ones, should be working on fine motor skills.

After filling in the blanks, now it’s time to answer two reading comprehension questions about the text.

And before they dare to think about saying: “I’m done!”, they have to read the text three times to get those reading fluency muscles going.

They color a circle for each time they read the text.
