I’ve selected 10 videos for you and this list includes a little bit of everything: longer videos, shorter videos, stories, songs, and so much more. Check them out!
- Mini (TFO) chante Noël: l’arbre de Noël
In my opinion, this video is less about what the characters say (or sing) than it is about the images. I would play it without sound and get kids to describe everything they see: the objects, the actions, etc. Great for Christmas vocabulary practice. They have other similar videos.
- Père Noël arrive ce soir
This is, of course, a very popular song, but I’m listing this video here because the lyrics are on the video so if you want your kiddos to sing along, this video might be useful.
- Mbotama ya muana
This is a lovely Christmas-related African “comptine”. The lyrics are simple enough for your little ones to follow along. Check it out!
- Mon beau sapin
Since we’re talking about Christmas trees, we have to sing this traditional Christmas song! This video shows the lyrics of the song so kids can follow along.
- Quand le père Noël
“Quand le père Noël vient me visiter, il descend par la cheminée” – this line is going to stick and be playing over and over in your head after watching this video #sorrynotsorry 😀
- Petit papa Noël
Such a beautiful song that your kids will be able to sing along as the video includes the lyrics.
- Douce nuit
O Holy Night in French. Can Christmas be complete without this song?
- Vive le vent
The French version of Jingle Bells is another Christmas classic!
- Rodolphe le renne au nez rouge
This is a story for French second language learners about Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer.
- Étoile
This is a wordless video, so how can this help your students practice more French? Well, the images are bright and attractive and even though there are no spoken words, there’s a very clear narrative. Have your students watch the video, then write down what the story is about. If you’d like them to practice speaking, pair them up and have them share with their partners what they think happened.

This is a longer video (around 6 minutes) that your more advanced students might enjoy. The animation is beautiful and the written story is displayed on the video. Check it out!
